Interesting fact of the week
During World War II, the deep-level platforms of Highgate Tube Station were used as air-raid shelters for thousands of Londoners escaping the Blitz. On February 13, 1944, a baby was born right there in the station while the bombs fell above.
The Fact: That baby was Jerry Springer. The legendary (and often controversial) American talk show host was actually a North Londoner by birth, born in the safety of the Northern Line.
